The prestigious photography awards draw to an end. Mitch Dobrowner wins L'Iris d'Or

The winners of the Sony World Photography Awards 2012 were announced in London on Apr 26.
The competition, organised by the World Photography Organisation and sponsored by the famous Japanese firm, is aimed not only at showcasing professionals but also at discovering hidden gems among amateur photographers.

American fine art photographer Mitch Dobrowner was the winner at the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards 2012 held last week in London. The competition has over 12,000 entries from 171 and it is considered one of the most important photography global events.
Mitch Dobrowner's set of storm photographs taken in Dundee TX won L'Iris d'Or prize for landscapes taken by professional photographers.
His photographs and those of other categories' winners can be seen at Somerset House London until May 20.
