The BP Portrait Award showcases the very best in contemporary portrait painting from around the world. For thirty-three years the exhibition has presented outstanding and innovative new work in a variety of styles and approaches, and it continues to be a highlight of the annual art calendar.
The artists shortlisted for the prizes will be announced in April 2012.
The exhibition will run at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from 21 June to 23 September 2012.
